Manchester City are keen to sign Harry Kane and are planning to discuss a possible deal with the Tottenham forward. Kane is open to joining City, but he and his suitors realize that negotiations with Daniel Levy won't be easy.
Tottenham's president is not inclined to sell Kane, who says he wants the club. He believes he got an effective verbal agreement to leave and leave Levy last summer at the end of this season.
The city's record transfer fee is less than £65m and Levy would have to leave with more than double that, he agreed to a deal for Kane. With the departure of Sergio Agüero, City are determined to find a player who can bolster a Premier League and Carabao Cup-winning squad this season and add to the Champions League this month. They were in contact with Kane's representatives.
Manchester United's interest in Kane seems to have waned since Edinson Cavani decided for another year, but it could be revived. No move yet for England's Chelsea captain and Levy would be particularly resistant to making a deal with them.
Tottenham will try to persuade Kane to stay and to appoint a new manager. This may be part of the process, but the 27-year-old's position is clear. He will play in front of the club's fans against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Levy acknowledged that mistakes have been made recently in the program notes. Past: “We're so focused on delivering the stadium and dealing with the impact of the pandemic that I feel like we're missing some key priorities and what's really in our DNA.
“Our work in society and with the NHS is an example of when we get it right, but we can't do everything right. It never happened because we didn't care or respect you, our fans - nothing could be further from the truth. ”
A “successful football team” is paramount and the Focus is a return to normal Champions League participation and racing for honor”.
